Building Trust Through a Strong Brand

When Sells Group Advisors approached us on a rebrand, they were sold. Sells Group Advisors aims to be recognized as the most trusted investment bank and M&A advisory firm for privately owned businesses in the middle market. Having been in business for just two years, the firm was experiencing rapid growth and wanted to capitalize on its success by creating a brand that highlighted its unique approach.

Working closely with the founder during discovery and research, we recommended that the primary business name be simplified from Sells Group Advisors to Sells. Future related entities will have their own DBA names.

We developed the tagline, “Trust Sells” to claim ownership of what founders value most during the M&A process. Clients consistently praise Sells for creating an environment of trust in which buyers and sellers can focus on rewarding outcomes for all parties. Leveraging the founder’s last name, we seized an opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind positioning tool.

The brand strategy, positioning, brand pillars, tone of voice, and messaging all support a narrative that sets Sells apart as the firm known for protecting sellers’ interests and connecting them with strategically aligned buyers. Likewise, the new visual identity symbolizes the firm’s transparent process and ability to connect like-minded buyers and sellers.

Sells values the human element in every transition. That means building an environment of trust—with an approach that fosters empathy and alignment, and a process that leads to mutually rewarding outcomes. It also means that long after the event itself, both parties will feel satisfied, confident, and optimistic about their futures.

We want people to view Sells as the most trusted M&A advisor. Because when it matters most, TRUST SELLS.

The color palette, diamond motif, and angular design theme extend across a variety of branded materials, including business cards, Word and PowerPoint templates, social media backgrounds, and the temporary splash page. Now in design and development, the new Sells website will feature a wealth of resources for founders who will view the firm as a knowledgable, experienced, and approachable leader.

Sells now has a brand identity that reinforces the fact that sellers and buyers can expect a personalized experience that leads to a rewarding transition—leaving both parties with confidence, fulfillment, and optimism for years to come.
